How to Setup eSIM on Android

⏱️ When should I install my eSIM?

We recommend installing your eSIM before you travel (e.g., at home or the airport), as you will need a stable Wi-Fi connection to download the eSIM profile. The validity period of the plan usually begins when the eSIM connects to a supported network at your destination, so installing it early won't waste your days.

Scan the QR Code

After purchasing your plan, you will receive an email containing a QR code for your eSIM.

Go to Settings > Network & internet (or Connections).
Tap Mobile network or SIMs.
Tap Download a SIM instead? or Add eSIM.
Use your camera to scan the QR code provided by Connectra.World.

Download & Name Your eSIM

Once scanned, confirm the download and give your new eSIM a recognizable name.

Tap Download when prompted.
Go to your SIM settings and rename the new eSIM to something like "Connectra Travel".
This will help you easily switch between your primary SIM and your travel eSIM.

Activate Data Roaming

When you arrive at your destination, make sure your phone is set to use the eSIM for internet access.

Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.
Tap on your Connectra eSIM.
Toggle Use SIM to ON.
Toggle Roaming to ON to allow the eSIM to connect to networks.
Ensure "Mobile data" is set to use the Connectra eSIM.

Troubleshooting Tips

Can't scan the QR code?

If you cannot scan the QR code, tap "Need help?" or "Enter details manually" on the scanning screen and input the Activation Code provided in your confirmation email.

No internet access?

Ensure your Connectra eSIM is toggled ON, set as the default for Mobile Data, and that Data Roaming is turned on specifically for that SIM. Try turning Airplane mode on and off to refresh the connection.
